2016 Western PA Camping VSC WinnersIn January of 2016, Jeff & Kathy McClure of Waynesburg, PA won the last VSC Camping Contest. They never dreamed that after taking advantage of over $1,000 of free camping in 2015 with the purchase of an RV from Hufnagel and Major’s RV in Harmony, that they’d wind up winning another $500 of free camping for 2016! B&R Camper Sales in Butler generously donated another $150 gift certificate from their RV Accessory Store, bringing their total winnings to $650.00!

The McClure family was named the winners of the sixth annual, Very Special Camper Contest (VSC), sponsored by participating campgrounds and RV Dealers in Western Pennsylvania last January.

The McClure family, according to Meadville KOA Campground Owner Tim Chilson, were able to enjoy over 11 different weekends of camping at half the price, because of the VSC program.  He went on to add, “This program introduces new campers to some of the finest campgrounds in Western Pennsylvania at a special introductory offer of half price camping because they bought a new RV at these local participating dealers!  It’s an outstanding, one-of-a-kind deal!”

When asked about what they liked most about the program, they said, “It allowed us to visit many different parks, and to discover what kind of camping we really liked!  We really loved camping by the water in our new Minnie Winnie travel trailer.”

The McClures purchased a Minnie Winnie travel trailer from Hufnagel and Major’s RV in Harmony, PA.  They told us that their new pink Minnie Winnie gets noticed a lot, and they received many comments about owning a pink travel trailer.

Like the McClure family, any camper purchasing a new RV from any of the participating RV dealers in 2017 receives one night of free camping for a family of four from each of the 23 participating Western Pennsylvania campgrounds.  This program is valued at over $1,000 of free camping provided by the participating campgrounds for each new RV owner who utilizes the program!  In total, the participating campgrounds have a combined gave away of over 700 nights of free camping last year!

Denny Quigley, owner of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest Kampground said that even though we’re no longer accepting the stamped coupons for entry into an additional contest, the very successful free camping program will still be available again in 2017.  Quigley added that, “Anyone planning to purchase an RV in 2017 will still receive over $1,000 of free camping from the 23 participating campgrounds.  The information is available from any participating RV dealer displaying the Very Special Camper 2017 information, or at any of the participating Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association campgrounds which can be found at
