KOA NEWS SERVICE (January 6, 2017) – The Meadville KOA Campground in Meadville, PA will host its second annual Vintage Car Show and RV Rally this summer on Saturday, June 3 at the campground, located at 25164 State Route 27 in Meadville.
All campers with restored, vintage recreational vehicles (pre-1980) are invited to attend. Vintage RVers are being provided a discounted camping rate as a thank you for displaying their RVs for the two hours of the Vintage RV Show.
“This is the second rally of this type that we’ve hosted at our campground,” said Meadville KOA owner Tim Chilson. “We’re planning to make this an ongoing annual event.”
Chilson said vintage RV owners that also have a vintage tow vehicle are invited to enter the tow vehicle in the Car Show portion of the event the same day. Trophies will be awarded. The Car Show includes awards for first place and second place in several categories, along with “best in show” awards for “Best Engine Bay” and “Best Sound System.”

Pittsburgh PA (January 14, 2017) – Ron & Kathy Frey of Alverton Pa and their three grandsons were thrilled to take advantage of the free camping nights offered when they purchased their new travel trailer from Brooks RV in Connelsville last year. They never dreamed that they would be selected to win another $500 of free camping at Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA) Campgrounds again for 2017.
The Freys were recently named the winners of the seventh annual Very Special Camper Contest (VSC), sponsored by participating campgrounds and RV dealers in western Pennsylvania.
Because of the VSC program, the Freys were able to enjoy over 8 different weekends of camping in their new 2015 Denali travel trailer at half price!
“By purchasing a new RV at a local participating dealer, they received a special introductory offer of half-price camping,” said Meadville KOA owner Tim Chilson. “This program introduces new campers to some of the finest campgrounds in western Pennsylvania. It’s an outstanding, one-of-a-kind deal.”
The Freys say the VSC program allowed them to discover new parks that they’d never camped at before. They are also excited about visiting even more PCOA member campgrounds that are new to them in 2017!
The VSC program is continuing in 2017. Those who purchase a new RV from participating dealers will receive one night of free camping for a family of four at each of 23 participating Western Pennsylvania campgrounds. It is a benefit valued at $1000.
“Information about this program is available at participating RV dealerships displaying the Very Special Camper 2017 information,” says Denny Quigley, owner of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest Kampground. “Campers who are interested can also learn more about the program at any of the participating PCOA member campgrounds found at www.PACamping.com,” Quigley continued.
